The carving at the bird decoration on the base shows signs of old repairs including the tip of the carving as shown in photograph 12. The marble is in good shape with no apparent breaks, chips or repairs though there is a rusty colored discoloration at the back right as seen in photograph 8. The wood is finished with an antiqued white surface accented by matte gold details. The white and lightly veined marble appears to be Carrara. The console is designed to sit flush on a wall and cannot stand alone. It has a screw which can be seen in photographs 9 and 10 that can be used to stabilize it on a wall though it seems to be very stable without it.
