An English Art Deco green bowl from Bretby Art Pottery dating circa 1925. The round, hand-thrown bowl is decorated with a bold and bright Kelly green glaze with speckles of brown accenting the interior. This artistic bowl would look wonderful on a kitchen counter filled with limes, lemons, tomatoes or cherries.
Very good condition with crazing overall and a few minor scuffs on the base, measuring 3 in. height x 7.5 in diameter, and marked BRETBY [sunburst/rising sun logo] / MADE IN ENGLAND / 2568C [shape number] on the base.
The Bretby Art Pottery (Tooth & Co. Ltd.) was established in 1887 by Henry Tooth and William Ault at Woodville in Derbyshire. The company specialized in handmade ceramics with unusual glazes. less
