At 60” long, it’s solid wood layers of Baltic birch europly, and topped with a walnut veneer.

Our signature media console is the perfect mix of modern and mid-century, and it has it all, whether you’re looking for a tv stand, storage cabinet, or credenza. This piece will fit perfectly into your living room, den, or dining room.

The slatted doors nest to create a look similar to an antique speaker box (the audiophiles tell us it’s called a tweed grill cloth cover), and they can be nested on a single side, or right in the middle. The piece is made of a high-quality Baltic birch europly and is topped with solid wood veneer in either walnut or maple. It’s all real wood here - no particle board, no paper veneer, just layer after layer of real, solid wood.

Take note that each media console comes with an adjustable shelf on each side - shelf pins included.

We leave the edges of the media console exposed to highlight the multiple layers, which creates a beautiful, artful, and iconic striping effect, similar to the work of Charles and Raye Eames and Alvar Aalto. In fact - the slats on the doors are made of this same “edge grain” material. And let’s not forget about the legs. Custom made Baltic birch europly layers, cut on an angle, and a work of art on their own.

MATERIALS
(01) Veneered Baltic Birch

Our furniture is made using a beautiful high-end Baltic birch europly from Columbia Forest Products®. Each of the 13 layers of the ply are solid wood, and a thick veneer in walnut wraps each face in rich tones. The Baltic birch is a sustainable product and will be very stable as the seasons change, unlike some solid wood furniture.

While many woodworkers conceal the edges of the plywood, we have made it our signature look to highlight the striped layers. Not only does this give a nod to the designers of the mid-century era, it makes every piece by Hossle Woodworks a work of art, and a unique, one-of-a-kind, creation.

(02) Finish

We finish our products with a mixture of pure tung oil, boiled linseed oil and wax. This means less harsh chemicals when we are doing the work, and a safer breathing experience for you. The end result is a durable, water-resistant matte finish that feels like a silky-smooth piece of wood.

Another benefit to the finish is that it allows for easy repair when scratches happen. Buff out the scratch with a piece of high-grit sandpaper and rub in some Howard Feed-N-Wax® and your piece is as good as new! less
