Originating in Provence, France, in the mid-20th century, this table bears the unmistakable touch of Maurice Hirsch, a celebrated designer renowned for his Baroque and Neoclassical creations inspired by the opulent.

Typical of the designer, the piece was inspired by the luxurious 18th/19th century, but with a contemporary Hollywood Regency Glam touch, exceptionally executed in decadent Baroque taste, lavishly gilded, with ornate carvings, and gracefully aged distressed finish to great effect, having a rectangular top encasing the hand-silvered antiqued flat mirror plate with etched banding, rising on incised stretcher-joined foliated acanthus scroll supports, terminating on paw feet. Attributed, no apparent signatures. circa 1940s

Very good original vintage condition. May have typical wear commensurate with 80 years of age and use, including minor scattered nicks, chips and losses. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Attractive appearance, with skillful intentionally distressed faux antique patina adding to the sophisticated character and old world European charm less
