- A rare, limited-edition rug or wall hanging featuring the famous Pablo Picasso painting “Three Musicians (Musicos con mascaras) 1921.” The … more A rare, limited-edition rug or wall hanging featuring the famous Pablo Picasso painting “Three Musicians (Musicos con mascaras) 1921.” The original painting is currently on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. On verso is an annotation of 172/500. Produced by Desso, 1996. Manufactured in The Netherlands under the license of Succession Picasso. 100% pure new wool. The painting “Three Musicians” exemplifies the Synthetic Cubist style; the flat planes of color and "intricate puzzle-like composition" giving the appearance of cutout paper with which the style originated. These paintings each colorfully represent three figures wearing masks. The two figures in the center and left are wearing the costumes of Pierrot and Harlequin from the popular Italian theater Commedia dell'arte, and the figure on the right is dressed as a monk. There is also a dog underneath the table. A unique statement piece for collectors of Modern Art. From a private collection. Dimensions: 67”h x 77”w. In excellent condition. less
