This is a large and heavy … more Beautiful wooden carpenter's box that is signed/carved on the inside lid: "M. Kroll 1927". This is a large and heavy piece (80 pounds) and has a worn brass plate that is difficult to read but is engraved: M. Kroll and Rybnik. Rybnik is a city in the south of Poland. This item was originally purchased from an estate in Philadelphia. The lid has a center raised section and you can see the age clearly by the oxidation marks around the nail heads. The box is in solid condition showing wear commensurate with its age; minor nicks, scratches & wood loss. The box is solid and structurally sound. The box inside has segmented sections and is very clean. On the internal lid on the upper left hand side, carved into the wood is where you will find it marked "M Kroll 1927". This would make a wonderful keepsake cabinet or even a low coffee table. Please review the photographs to see the condition details up close.
