A very fine French 19th century Louis XVI style hand cream painted and carved five-piece salon suite, comprising of a … Read more A very fine French 19th century Louis XVI style hand cream painted and carved five-piece salon suite, comprising of a sofa, loveseat or canapé, two bergeres or armchairs, and two side chairs or accent chairs, all upholstered in original diamond cut fabric in very good condition as well as of high quality. The finely carved frames have padded arm supports and seats, with ribbon tied flower-head cresting and leaf tipped borders. Paris, circa 1860-1870. The beautifully painted cream and giltwood frames crisply carved with beading, stylized petals and acanthus leaves, on turned and fluted supports, upholstered in original beautiful cut velvet upholstery.
