Emblematic of Alessi's combo of great design and mass production methods, this piece utilizes Michael Graves personal design language that incorporates Art Deco, Pop Art, and Memphis Milano influence, but always serves to bring users joy. The Harvard Business Review observed that, Graves’ design “showed its greatest originality in broadening people’s expectation of what a kettle was and did and, indeed, the nature of the breakfast experience.”

This piece has a 3 prong U.S. plug which is quite rare. (The version with the European plug is much more common.) The handle and base are a light cream colored plastic and the body is mirror-polished 18/10 stainless-steel, while the bird is Graves' iconic deep wine shade of red. It has a 1.5 liter capacity. In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including a few scratches on the body and one of the two lights on the base doesn't light up.
