This footed lamp features a wooden pagoda base, a porcelain cap, and pink floral cartouche panels with pink a center scene of a mahout rider astride a large elephant. This ceramic lamp is equipped with a Leviton socket and two appointed bronze elephant handles.
Elephants are represented often in Chinese mythology, imagery and folklore. Elephants symbolize luck, wisdom and strength.
