Late 20th century serigraph print titled "Horse Race" by Wayland Moore, featuring a Number 8 horse and jockey in the midst of a race. Pencil signed and numbered 93/300 along the lower edge.
"Wayland Moore American Artist: b. 1935-2022. He is a native of Belton, S.C. and a graduate of the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Fla., according to his biographical sketch. "His commissions and assignments have brought him international acclaim as an artist who has captured the excitement of events such as the Winter and Summer Olympics, America's Cup, U.S. Open, the Masters, P.G.A., U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame, Maccabiah Games of Israel, Davis Cup and many other international events. Moore has exhibited in numerous one-man shows throughout the United States and Europe. His original works and limited edition prints hang in private and corporate collections and he is listed in Who's Who in American Art. The artist's studio has been the hot and dry bush of Africa, often only yards away from lions, zebra and wildebeest; and his palette has captured the excitement and intrigue of the white waters of Alaska, Montana rodeos and European landscapes. In addition to Moore's reputation as an artist, he conducts workshops and has taught painting in evening classes at Emory University for 15 years. His concept of teaching art to federal inmates earned him a commendation from the White House. He is in demand as a lecturer and is a powerful storyteller whose company is always treasured, whether it be in offices, galleries or around a warm campfire." Wayland David Moore, whose expressionistic paintings of dramatic action and brilliant color define an era in sports art, died on Monday, November 7, 2022, at his home in Decatur, GA. He was 87." Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
