This elegant, antique walnut planter with original zinc liner was crafted in France, circa 1880. Oval in shape with bowed and serpentine sides, the jardinière sits on small bun feet. With intricate side handles, the planter features a bronze gallery rim around the top, and a marquetry pattern on all sides; it is further dressed by ornate bronze embellishments throughout including bead band decor at the base. The Napoleon III style fruitwood cache pot is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Removable zinc liner included. Place it as a centerpiece on a dining table, console or buffet filled with a floral or green arrangement!
