Stratford was a well know silversmith of the … more Silver tea caddy with marks for 1883 by Henry Stratford in Sheffield,England. Stratford was a well know silversmith of the era. Silver tea caddies are scarce and this one is a real gem. It is a nicely proportioned oval shape, has two fine rings of engraving, and a tapered reeded base. The caddy is all original and has no repairs. The hinge and finial are tight, and the lid has corresponding marks to the base. On careful scrutiny I can find only one tiny hard to see ping as a flaw. Measures 4" high x 3.75"wide x 2.5"deep. Weighs 5 ounces. less
