1997 Mediterranean Italian postmodern Console or Sofa Table by Magnussen Furniture. The rectangular base is Tessellated Mactan Stone.
Mactan stone is found only on the island of Mactan in the South Philippines. It is an ancient rock (fossilized limestone) in which you can find fossils of sea creatures who once inhabited the reefs. See last photo. This material is commonly used in architecture in the Philippines.
Mactan Island is a popular destination for scuba due to coral reefs.
We are pleased to offer this postmodern cream and beige console table with an alternating polished slab and textured rock edge in a brick pattern. The rock edge highlights the stone natural attributes and origins (see photo of fossilized sea shell)
The beveled tempered glass too sits perfectly on rubber spacers atop two sides and a polished round orb.
