This set crafted for Steiner, a pioneering company renowned for innovation from the 1930s to the 1970s, this design in particular, hailing from the late 1960s, embodies a shift towards softer forms as France emerged from war damage into a more playful atmosphere. Inspired by Michel Castedin's Karate "fauteuil" from Airborne, itself influenced by Colombo's Elda armchair, Steiner created their unique version. Knoll France, distinct from Knoll International, collaborated on the project, as evidenced by the Knoll fabric imprint.
