Mid-Century Modern Heywood Wakefield china cabinet. This piece is restored Heywood Wakefiled, wheat finish, M1546 dispay cabinet modified with new hairpin legs. Our shop elevated (literally) this Incredibly versatile Heywood Wakefield display hutch bar with a sleek set of 12″ metal hairpin legs. Instead of using only screws, we opted to install one additional threaded insert nut per leg. This provides for substantial strength and stability. The legs can now be easily bolted and unbolted without wearing out all of the connections. The metal hairpin legs are both stylish and lend ultra Mid-Century Modern charm.
There’s a rich, deep, aged honey patina on this wheat finish birch / maple. We achieved a a near perfect muted grain and color match to the sections that we delicately restored. A prime example of mid-century cabinet making with mirrored half-moon etched finger-pull sliding glass doors that operate with ease. Glide these doors to the left or right to reveal the interior space with one removable and adjustable shelf. The ideal whisky / bourbon display case when used as a dry bar. If you’d rather put media inside, the proportions are complimentary for a flat screen TV, resting on top or wall mounted above.
Stamped by the maker with illegible date.
Excellent restored vintage condition. Top, sides and interior shelf professionally refinished by our in-house cabinet shop. Glass doors slide easily and have no chips. New hairpin legs. Only very minor age appropriate imperfections remain. less
