18th Century Rustic Country French Console ~ Sofa Table was crafted from indigenous hardwoods namely sycamore and oak, to literally … more 18th Century Rustic Country French Console ~ Sofa Table was crafted from indigenous hardwoods namely sycamore and oak, to literally last for centuries! The solid plank top is framed all around and provides a great surface for display and decoration. Three drawers provide a little visual interest and convenience, with one at the center and two on the sides. The classic beam and "H" structure below, coupled with lots of pegged mortise & tenon joinery, ensure longevity. Although modest in appearance, it still was designed to grace a large country home and do so with rural elegance. Additional pull-out surfaces on each side only add to the allure! We're confident it found many divergent uses over the course of the last two hundred years, making it all the more charming!
