Beautiful VTG Turkish Wedding mirror, handcrafted repousse, 925 silver(a better quality than 900 coin silver from which these mirrors were typically made.)Maker stamp BULU. Measures 5”x6”x.5”, chain attached. Can be carried on wrist, held in palm or hung on wall.
Traditionally these mirrors were gifted to the bride from her groom for good fortune. (I like to think such a gift represents how stunning the bride’s reflection is to her groom on their wedding day!)
When hung on a wall, the decorative repousse side was meant to face out(particularly during prayer time) with mirror turned to reflection side only when needed…a sign of humility as well.
This is a lovely romantic gift for any bride or VTG collector. less
