The world famous French fashion brand Agnes b. Paris was founded in 1973. From the beginning it developed a subtle, chic, and casual style all at once, which helped turn the Parisian into a fashion icon. A style that is a state of mind.
Agnes b. opened her first store in Paris in the city's radically changing Central Market area. The first boutique established the brand not only as fashion forward, but also as a concept with focus on expressions. encounters, art and music. With its popular success in the 1980's Agnes b. expanded globally with stores in New York and beyond.
Along with creating a fashion lifestyle of apparel for men, women, children and home, cultivating and collecting art became a major focus of the brand. In 1984 The Galerie du Jour Agnes b. opened to showcase paintings, sculptures and photographs. The Agnes b. art collection has been exhibited at influential international galleries and museums. In addition to fashion and art, Agnes b. has always had an investment in human culture and creation with projects, funding and endowments of social conscience into action in the fight against injustice, and protecting the environment.
LouLou Picasso ( b. 1954 ) is a French artist and graphic designer, best known as a founding member of The Bazooka Group, an influential collective of artists and graphic designers that emerged in the late 1970's in France. The group was known for its subversive and Avant-Garde style, often characterized by its provocative and anarchic imagery.
LouLou Picasso and his colleagues made a significant impact on the visual arts scene, particularly in the realm of Punk and underground culture. The artworks challenged conventional norms and often critiqued political and social issues of the time. LouLou Picasso's individual contributions were marked by a distinctive style that combine elements of Pop Culture, Surrealism, and political commentary.
Agnes b. made some of the best and most memorable French fashion posters. The Agnes b. posters sold the clothing for sure, but the posters were the product also. They are hugely desirable. The extra large format rare out of print framed French fashion Pop Art poster measures 28 1/2" W X 40 7/8" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte brushed finish pewter silver tone metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling.
