A 1930s ink & pencil on paper view of San Francisco, California, featuring the Bank of California at California & Sansone Streets, by woman artist Artist Leontine Wallace. Image size:
9 3/4" x 7 1/2". Matted size: 18" x 14".
Wallace was born in Alameda, CA in 1896 She studied with Maurice Sterne and with Andre Lhote in Paris. Wallace lived in Berkeley, San Francisco, and taught art for many years at Marysville High School, Marysville, CA. When she retired in 1959, she settled in the Carmel Valley and lived there until her death in 1971. She exhibited throughout California in the 1930s and 40s.
