Rocking chair in bouclé fabric with chromed steel structure, designed by the well-known artist Renato Zevi during the 1970s. BIO: Best known for his inimitable Ellipse rocking chair, Italian furniture designer Renato Zevi worked with gilded aluminum and brass, lacquered wood and mirrored glass to create elegant, sensual and glamorous pieces in keeping with the Hollywood Regency style. Zevi designed extensively throughout the 1970s, drawing inspiration from the likes of Milo Baughman, one of the most skilled American designers of mid-century modern. Baughman's relaxed, airy approach to design is reflected in many of Zevi's pieces, such as sideboards, coffee and cocktail tables, and dining tables, which, like Baughman's designs, feature sturdy chrome frames and polished lacquered wood veneers. Among Zevi's most inventive designs was a chaise lounge with an ottoman, a unique creation with oval, sculptural, polished chrome legs and a plush seat and back. Through his company Zevi & C., he designed the Ellipse chair for the furniture company Selig. An American manufacturer and importer, Selig is known for being one of the first to introduce modern European furniture to the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. Versions of the popular Ellipse chair have been made with tufted vinyl upholstery and soft, Italian leather. flexible. Zevi also collaborated with Italian furniture designer Romeo Rega, creating elegant bookcases and display cabinets with gilded brass frames and smoked glass or crystal shelves. The Rega company was acclaimed during the 1970s for its mass-produced console tables, chairs and other pieces, until it ceased production in the 1980s. Zevi's work remains popular among Hollywood Regency decorators, collectors and design enthusiasts. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.
