Elegant Japanese Satsuma ginger jar table lamp with beautiful hand painted continuous scene portraying a pair of exotic peacocks in a natural setting surrounded with pink cherry & multi coloured chrysanthemum blossoms and foliage/plants. Very detailed work hand highlighted with gilt/gold paint. Red/orange lower and upper decorative borders. The jar fitted with a carved dark brown rosewood base.
The electric fixture with "Leviton" markings and the rosewood base with impressed numerals on the underside.
Circa 1920s. Taisho Period.
Condition is very good. Everything works very well.
