A true classic, this Orrefors crystal … more Mid Century Orrefors Crystal Signed 1982 "Thousand Windows" Footed Bowl 9.5" Wide 3" High
A true classic, this Orrefors crystal bowl, "Thousand Windows", was originally designed by the renowned artist, Simon Gate (1883-1945). The bowl is footed with the signature etched on the bottom and perhaps dated or numbered 1982. It is perfectly faceted and looks amazing on a variety of surfaces.
The "Thousand Windows" crystal bowl is in excellent condition, free from any nicks or scratches.
Orrefors Glasbruk, founded in 1898, is a highly regarded Swedish glassworks company known worldwide for its excellent quality crystal products.
Simon Gate joined Orrefors in 1916 and was regarded as the most important artist and designer in Orrefors' history. Gate perfected the Graal technique which involved overlaying layers of glass to create a three-dimensional effect, like that displayed with the "Thousand Windows" design.
Here is a Decorative Console Bowl from Orrefors Crystal, Sweden. The pattern is Eo Bowl (111) that features Vertical Cuts on a Footed Base. It is 9 1/2" across by 3" tall, and is signed Orrefors on the Base. Designed by Edvin Ohrstrom in 1982.
The bowl is 9.5" Wide and 3" D with a 1" thick lip around circumference.
