- This is an 18th Century Chinese sweetmeat box that was converted into a lamp. The sweetmeat box (lamp base) is … more This is an 18th Century Chinese sweetmeat box that was converted into a lamp. The sweetmeat box (lamp base) is porcelain and has two decorative layers, one green and one pink, displaying Chinese battle, horse, and human motifs. Two light switches are located at the top of the lamp base - one controls the top bulb and the other controls a bulb inside of the lamp base. The lamp base bulb creates illumination through the holes in the sweetmeat box and can be used as a night light. The lamp has working electrical switches and a chord. less
