A set of two abstract impasto cityscape oil paintings signed by Chapelle. They provide a colorful display of cityscapes in a mid-century modern style. These are very vibrant, energetic works, artist signed.

The paintings are framed in very thick, wide gold baroque embossed wood frames that measure 17.25 inches wide by 15-3/8 inches, and 2.25 inches thick. The viewable areas of the paintings are 9.5 inches by 7.5 inches.

Both are in good condition. There is a bit of cracking in the paint in the painting with a raised bridge, and a small area where the paint appears to have either been missed or has come off (I think it's the former, a side-effect of the impasto style of painting; see last photo for a closeup. The second painting has no condition problems I can see.

Both are signed with the name Chapelle in white in the lower left corner (I know it looks blue in my photos, but it really is white; other colors seem to be relatively accurate). Please let me know if you need additional photos or details. less
