This piece is made with whatever I can find that gives me the look I want. All the materials are applied in layers allowing each layer to dry before moving on. The list is long from recycled gift wrap, fabrics, nail polish, pencils, kids crayons, oil pastels, vinyl emulsion paints, wax, inks and water colors. It is literally salvaged. This is on hard Canson board. The painting goes to the edges.
Unframed
Varnished does not need glass
My work is probably best described as Contemporary Impressionism thought my more abstract work moves toward Expressionism. After over 45 years of creating I see my work evolving and actually getting much looser and relaxed. Maybe this comes with age but being able to make marks that are pleasing is my real goal. I rarely totally finish a piece, I don’t like telling the whole story but would rather leave something out for you the viewer to fill in with how you see it.
My studio is in the Southwestern United States, but I travel and paint from all my experiences. Everything seems to influence my work from the vegetables I cook with to the wonderful drawings done by a small less
