18th century engraving portrait of the Dutch Golden Age painter Hendrick Cornelisz Vroom (c. 1562-1640) the founder of Dutch marine art genre.
Engraved by Thomas Chambers (c. 1742-1789) from the publication by Horace Walpole "Anecdotes of painting in England : with some account of the principal artists, and incidental notes on other arts : collected by the late Mr. George Vertue, and now digested and published from his original Manuscript." This is probably from the 1798 publication, but could be from 1765 edition.
