The cat is part of the Lilla Zoo series. She designed yhese in between 1956 until 1978. This is typical of Lisa Larson's Scandinavian minimalism, a nice simple design with lovely graphic details on the face and the back. It is signed with no chips or cracks. Lisa Larson created these cats in the 1950s after a model of a cat with its tail in the air. The cats are made of a dark brown chamotte stoneware with glazed faces and backs. In the face she used a grayish white glaze with painted eyes, nose and whiskers. The design is simple yet very much of its time, a modernistic cat, she also did two other cats which all became part of the Lilla zoo series, which consists of a total of seven animal.
