This iconic ceramic bull was designed by Kurt Tschörner (the famous designer of Ruscha Keramik, Germany) back in 1964, for his friend Otto Gerharz - the founder of Otto Keramik, Germany.
Otto Gerharz is the former Ruscha Keramik director and is celebrated for pioneering and developing glorious fat lava glazes. His small family-run ceramic factory has been producing iconic ceramic vases, planters, and figurines since the 1960s — including this amazing bull.
Each bull was handmade and handpainted in Germany, with the same materials. All the glazes are self-made at Otto Keramik and each piece leaving the manufacturing process is unique. This specific bull has been through two fires because the golden horns need a second separate manufacturing process. The bull comes with the usual felt bottom specific for Otto Keramik.
Featuring a speckled crater on its back, this statement ceramic bull/buffalo will steal the show in any habitat!
