The Savoy vase is more than just a vase; it is a work of art that eagerly works with you to bring a refined sophistication to its environment.
A design icon of the 20th century, Alvar Aalto crafted this vase as part of a ten-piece collection. He submitted these entries for a 1936 competition to choose the exhibits for the Swedish Pavilion at the 1937 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
Each Savoy vase is handblown by skilled artisans at the Iittala glassworks in Finland. This time-honored technique ensures that each vase is unique, with its own subtle variations in form and thickness. The thick, clear glass of the vase allows light to dance and play within its curves, creating a mesmerizing visual effect.
