A fine large antique Japanese Meiji porcelain bowl.
With a white ground and extensively gilt throughout.
Primarily decorated in red, … more A fine large antique Japanese Meiji porcelain bowl.
With a white ground and extensively gilt throughout.
Primarily decorated in red, blue, and gold with bits of green, brown, and yellow as accent colors.
There is a circular flower motif offset from the center of the bowl and ribbon devices with varying patterns emanate from it. Between each set of ribbon devices are cartouches depicting Japanese flora, fauna, and landscape. The outside of the bowl shares the same pattern and is continuous with the interior.
Simply a wonderful large Japanese porcelain bowl!
