18th century engraving portrait of the Swiss artist Michael Dahl (1659-1743).
Engraved by Thomas Chambers (1742-1789) from the publication by Horace Walpole "Anecdotes of painting in England : with some account of the principal artists, and incidental notes on other arts : collected by the late Mr. George Vertue, and now digested and published from his original Manuscript." This is probably from the 1798 publication, but could be from 1765 edition.
