All the … more This superbe antique collectable, a beautiful 'Delft' tile, was made around 1635 in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. All the tiles from this type, 'the Rotterdammer Kroontegel', were made in Rotterdam. It is known as a 'crown' tile, referring to the crown on the top of the tile.
This tile depicts a primitive painted Lion in a landscape and is decorated with a circle and 'Wanli' inspired corner motifs, a motif which was popular in those days. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
