The tops are supported by a custom metal base, which is black in color, with four straight legs and braced with stretchers along three sides at their feet. Petrified wood is a fossil, which over time, becomes so sturdy and dense that it is as heavy as marble. The tables are a wonderful marriage of ancient and new.
