Antique pitcher and goblet, carnival glass in marigold, early 1900s vintage. The glass refraction is incredible due to the shape and pattern. The iridescent surface is stunning with gold, red, blue, and purple highlights on an amber orange base. The two pieces provide a beautiful example of this highly collectible turn of the last century glass-making technique.
The large pitcher stands 8.5” tall with a top diameter of 5” (8” handle-spout). It holds 48oz/6.0c/1.5q). The sides are fluted inside and out. The handle is substantial and comfortable to the touch. The swooping spout provides additional height and visual interest. It pours perfectly. The base has one chip that is smooth, shallow, and only visible if turned upside down (see last pic).
The sole-surviving goblet stands 5” tall with a top diameter of 3” (4” handle-lip). It holds 4.0 oz/0.5c). The sides are fluted and match the pitcher. The handle is well positioned and proportioned. The octagonal base is in excellent condition.
The pair will be packaged in one box. less
