Made in Germany by the Schatz company (best known for its clocks that only had to be wound once a year), this magnificent lion's head doorknocker is surprisingly similar in design to the one that graces the official residence of the British Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street, London, England. It is cast in solid brass and measures a substantial 7.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches deep. (The lion's head, alone, measures 5.5" high by 4.25" wide.) It was purchased as a gift in the late 1970's, but was never afixed to a door, so it comes to you with all its original hardware intact (three 2.5 inch screws, 3 square screw nuts, and a brass strike button that is just over 1.75" in diameter). Now burnished with a lovely patina due to its age, this majestic door knocker will add an incomparable touch of class to your front door. See less
