This is PRETTY and ANTIQUE PAIR of gilt bronze ( brass ) plaques, depicting St. Peter and St. Paul.

Both are set behind a hand carved round gilt wooden frame.

Bronze well casted, high quality detail, excellent hand chiseled, in thick gold plated at the front only ( old mercury way ).

Bronze plaques attached to the frame by screws ( I detached, cleaned and waxed the bronze ).

A very high quality hand carved wood frame, in FINO gilding.

FINO gilding is a very skilled process to add gold leaf to wood, a red layer ( Boule ) is added first and then the gold leaf.

Original gold gilding, with minor scratches and discoloration ( see photo ).
