Offering a large and chunky Italian Murano Glass style polished geode bowl - ashtray designed by Antonio Da Ros for Cenedese Glass Blowing Co., circa 1960's.
This particular bowl is made with a double "Sommerso" technique utilizing both Cobalt Blue submerged inside pink-lavender glass. You can see the pink-lavender color both on the bottom and a beautiful refection on the top rim. This color is called Alexandrite as it changes from lavender to light blue depending on the type of light.....quite unusual. Please review photos carefully as you will see the bottom portion in pink/lavender color and also in light blue color under different light sources.
EXCELLENT CONDITION....just flawless.....hard to find this bowl without any issues, but this bowl is nearly perfect and the new owner will be very happy about its immaculate condition.
A great item for the antique glass collector, or just a captivating accessory for that high end sophisticated Mid Century Modern décor. It will look great in a Coastal, Palm Beach or Boho Chic environment. This is an eye-catching item that is perfect for a coffee, end table, or foyer table.

DEFINITION OF ALEXANDRITE GLASS:
Neodymium glass (also known as Alexandrite glass), changes color according to different lighting conditions. The glass appears lilac (or sometimes pink) in natural sunlight or yellow artificial light, and smoky blue in fluorescent/white light. This is due to the presence of Neodymium oxide (Nd²O³) in the glass. less
