This particular bowl is made with a double "Sommerso" technique utilizing both Cobalt Blue submerged inside pink-lavender glass. You can see the pink-lavender color both on the bottom and a beautiful refection on the top rim. This color is called Alexandrite as it changes from lavender to light blue depending on the type of light.....quite unusual. Please review photos carefully as you will see the bottom portion in pink/lavender color and also in light blue color under different light sources.


EXCELLENT CONDITION....just flawless.....hard to find this bowl without any issues, but this bowl is nearly perfect and the new owner will be very happy about its immaculate condition.

Neodymium glass (also known as Alexandrite glass), changes color according to different lighting conditions. The glass appears lilac (or sometimes pink) in natural sunlight or yellow artificial light, and smoky blue in fluorescent/white light. This is due to the presence of Neodymium oxide (Nd²O³) in the glass. See less
