Lovely antique solid mahogany bench or settee in the Georgian style, with nice sculptural elements, and a striped silk cushion....beautifully … more Lovely antique solid mahogany bench or settee in the Georgian style, with nice sculptural elements, and a striped silk cushion....beautifully carved armrests, sculpted ball-in-claw feet, and a wonderfully detailed backrest are just a few of the features you'll find with this eye catching antique piece....the seat cushion can be easily removed for reupholstery if you wish (the current striped silk has a couple minor blemishes), as it's made to rest neatly in an inset groove in the frame....the bench is solid wood, but is not particularly heavy, which makes it easy to handle and maneuver.....it's in outstanding condition overall---the wood is absolutely beautiful, dark and rich, with great antique patina.....there is one small (one inch), non-structural split in the decorative portion of the backrest (see photo 8)....it's a tight split that in no way affects stability, or the aesthetic---you wouldn't notice it at all, honestly, but it is there.....otherwise, the bench is in terrific shape, particularly considering that it's an antique....a beautiful, character-rich piece to add to your space... less
