- Antique early 1900's, Japanese kimono clothing chest made of kiri (paulownia) wood, crafted with expert precision and detail. The chest … more Antique early 1900's, Japanese kimono clothing chest made of kiri (paulownia) wood, crafted with expert precision and detail. The chest is made in two sections, with five graduated drawers, three smaller drawers over two larger ones. The drawers are fully functional, opening and closing easily. The dark hardware is all original with hand forged pulls and straps that add stability and tightness to the joints. The drawers when closed are not flush with the case but sit out around 1/8" due to shrinking in this dry climate. less
