What a beautiful and rare piece Rare Piece for a foyer, library, or any room.
An original locking mahogany cabinet with key, for letters, books, or precious items.
Made around the mid 19th century, c. 1890s
This antique Mahogany Locking Letter Filing Cabinet will be a favorite collectible for generations. There are 7 compartments, with sliding openings and closure once the side strip has been unlocked. In Very good condition., expertly and beautifully constructed with detail only a fine wood maker could demonstrate. We could not find the makers mark, but there could be there. The top of the piece has an ornate carved bannister edge in the center is a slab of marble (see pics), its a heavy solid piece. There may be a few light scratches, or minor dents throughout but nothing noticeable or in any way compromised.
I have seen very few of these, especially in this condition.

The Chairish Buyer Guarantee ensures that you have complete peace of mind when

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
