A scruffy white terrier, he stares out with sparkling brown eyes and a pensive expression, set against a soft brown background. He appears to be a West Highland White, or at least a possible ancestor - the first breed club wasn't established until 1904! This lovely tribute to a well-loved dog is signed S. Berghuis 1863 for Sybolt Berghuis (1820-1896) of the Netherlands. Painted on a sturdy board, curved with age; loosely mounted in an older gold-painted wood frame with red undertones, formerly taped and now re-mounted with nails around the edge. Wire to hang. Board measures approximately 10 1/4 inches wide and 13 inches tall, framed to a total size of 13 1/4 inches wide and 15 3/4 inches tall. See less
