A fine antique Victorian reeded Spirit Kettle with extravagant foliate design, silver plated, with it's stand, burner and securing pins. The kettle sits on claw feet and is secured by two locking pins, removal of the rear pin allows the hinge at the front to function so that tea may be poured.
The kettle was made by Roberts & Belk in Sheffield who were established as Furniss, Poles & Turner in 1810 becoming Roberts & Belk in 1879 and continuing to trade under that name until being acquired in 1961. There is a design registration number on the base allowing us to date the year of manufacture as 1900.
The kettle and stand together measure 34cm (13.4") in height, weighty and substantial. less
