This gorgeous vintage set of Capiz shell placemats, coasters and napkins, comes straight from 1970s.
Vintage Round Capiz Shell Placemats or Chargers.
There are six lovely handmade place settings crafted from the shells of the province of Capiz and the island of Samal in the Philippines.
The shells are often called windowpane oysters because they have been harvested for thousands of years for use as window panes. The napkins have a stitched pattern of flowers, as well as a cut out section that looks like a trellis.
This would make a lovely vintage gift for a beach house, for someone looking to bring the nautical or coastal flavour into their home and what an amazing touch for a seafood feast!
This is a vintage jewel that's in a very difficult to find in like new condition.
