A rare example, late Edo period. Incredibly light pottery, elegant crackle glaze & restrained decoration of a few leaves. The red inscription is Ogurazan, a Kyoto mountain. The impressed kiln/workshop mask has not been deciphered. Bowls like this are also called "matcha bowl". This one is the period of Kiyomizu Rokubei III (headed kiln from 1838-1883). 2 light hairlines at rim. 4 7/8" dia., 2.25" h. less
