Original Oil on Board of a well-dressed young lady gazing longingly through an upper story window, confiding only in a solitary flowerpot.
Very well executed and artist signed in lower right - Fortunoff we think.
Unframed.
Barn and Brick reds, olive and loden greens, white, greys, and delicate greens in the flower.
Guessing 1930s / 1940s, though could very well be mid-century. Clean and nice.
Measures 9" x 12" and would be sensational in a significant frame. The artist's excellent detail work would really pop!

Sometimes a picture is so simple you almost miss how detailed and elegant it is. When we go to auctions and sales, we slog through far more commercial / commodity art than truly worthy pieces. In this inevitable sea of bad posters, prints and game attempts that feel short, we almost missed this one. As it was about to close my husband said - "hang on...look at the shadows and the brick work..." and he made one more bid. I'm glad he did, and this is a beautiful image that speaks to urban 1920s/30s/40s life in a warm and sweet way. Enjoy!

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

Cancellations
