Tacon, a member of … more Pastel on board by Edna Jeanette Tacon (USA/Canada, 1905-1980), signed and dated 1947, framed - 25.5”x15.5”. Tacon, a member of the Canadian Group of Painters, was born in Wisconsin and raised in Ontario. She studied and trained as a violinist. However, she was inspired by her artist husband to pick up the brush herself. Her work has been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario. She split her time between Toronto, where she taught design and art history at the Toronto Western Technical School, and New York City, where she passed having painted to the end. less
