About Marbro Lamps:
Marbro began production of lamps just after World War II until the company was sold in 1990. It was founded by the Markoff brothers. Their lamps were made by craftsmen in a factory located in the Downtown Los Angeles garment district, and their first customers were movie stars and celebrities looking for one-of-a-kind products. Most of the lamps they made took anywhere from 70-90 days to make. Marbro only hired the most experienced artisans, so many of their employees were over 50 years of age. The lamps were marketed to very exclusive furniture stores or sold directly to interior designers. Lamp bodies were ordered from around the world, but they were assembled at the factory. Marbro lamps are highly collectible and sought after in today's marketplace. less
