Graduate of the Art Academy of Chicago, Pacific Grove & Carmel Art Association amongst many others. Harold was married to Mabel Landaker also a listed artist. Both artists were influenced and inspired by circus art. This piece painted in the late 50’s has a wonderful whimsical safari scene depicting famous explorers Henry Stanley & David Livingstone. Stanley is painted on one of the travel bags. Great bright colors, silly fun animals, laundry hanging in the trees, ostrich tethered to a tree - this painting has it all! Great bronze colored metal frame and rust colored matting. Oil on Masonite (35.5 x 23.5). See less
