Her garden … more Faye Edwards was a prolific collector and propagator of the plants indigenous to the southern Blue Ridge Mountains. Her garden was a spectacle of native plants. She also shared her love of these plants in her art. The most common theme in her watercolor paintings was the flora of her native region. This wonderful painting of columbine is typical. Her paintings are simple and unpretentious, just like the native plants in her garden. But her final product -- both in art and in gardening -- is always an authentic representation of her passion and surroundings. Sadly, cancer took Ms. Edwards far too early, and few of her paintings are available. This painting measures 9.75 inches wide by 13.75 inches high and is beautifully matted and framed in a frame with dimensions of 19.5 inches wide by 23.5 inches high. less
