A lovely 18th Century Meissen Cupid with the motto "Je les punis" (I punish them) in French, on the base. … more A lovely 18th Century Meissen Cupid with the motto "Je les punis" (I punish them) in French, on the base. This was designed by Michel Victor Acier. This young Cupid seems to be hammering away at flaming hearts. The detail is astonishing, all handpainted, with lovely eyes, individual strands of hair, and the tree rings in the stump on which he rests.
